APPRAISALS
02.
Since 1995, Catherine Little Bert has been used her extensive knowledge and experience in 19th and 20th century American art to offer appraisal services to private collectors, museums, artists/artist estates, attorneys, and insurance companies. As the field of fine art appraisal became more professional, Catherine pursued more formal education in the field and completed the Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts program at the New York University in 2010. In 2018, she founded the sister company to Bert Gallery, Bert ARTWorks Valuation Services, where she leads a research staff that regularly offers “opinions of value” for clients seeking information of their artworks, to formal appraisals for retail replacement value for insurance purposes or “fair market value” for IRS required estate evaluations of donation evaluations.
We understand that no two appraisals are the same, and for each and every client, we ensure a unique experience tailored to their individual needs. We pride ourselves on preparing exceptional appraisals, handled with meticulous attention, professionalism, and discretion. Bert ARTWorks Valuation Services is pleased to have many satisfied clients, including prominent artists, museums, galleries, and private collectors. Applying our collective experience of over 30 years, we provide our clientele with valuation and appraisal services on American and European artworks in our fields of expertise.
In addition to exclusive attention to our clients and an emphasis on confidentiality, all of our appraisals comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) of the Appraisal Foundation as well as the Code of Ethics of The Appraisers Association of America, organizations dedicated to promoting high standards within the appraisal profession.
The cost of your appraisal or opinion of value is based on an hourly rate, with the variables most important for the time commitment by our staff being the number of works evaluated, the number of artists in the collection and the type of evaluation service or appraisal required. Fair market value appraisals required by the IRS for estate and donation appraisals are the most time consuming based on the required documentation for each work. Please call Catherine at 401-752628 to discuss your particular needs.
